Forgiveness

January 27, 2008 on 4:13 pm | In Theology |

Should I forgive others even if they don’t stop sinning against me, or repent of their past sins toward me?

It sure feels like I shouldn’t have to, doesn’t it? Isn’t that fair?

Did Jesus wait until I stopped sinning or repented of my sin before he forgave me?

Wait a minute… I never did stop sinning against him…. didn’t I?

Can we learn to be as generous as Jesus with our forgiveness?

  1. There is a myth that forgiveness means a reboot on a relationship. I think if the still sin against you, you can forgive them, but it doesn’t mean that you have to be around them anymore.

  2. Well, yes… I totally agree. But that’s not what I’m saying.
